Lil Boosie Torrence Hatch was in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, born November 14, 1983, he was given the nickname Boosie by his family and was raised in St. W. Garfield in a ghetto in the streets of south side Baton Rouge (SSB).
Boosie was growing of the many difficult experiences he was put tempered. His neighborhood, known for drugs and violence, was a place feared by the general population. To outsiders, it is a jungle, it was for the residents, that was life. Boosie was very involved in basketball to stay off the streets, and was actually expected, on the way to college level basketball.
At 14 years old, Boosie moved to his grandmother lived, after her father was murdered over drugs. Raised without a father figure and without a strong guiding hand, Boosie turned to drugs and crime. After being expelled from school, Boosie took freestyling and began to get serious with his music. Living in the 225, Boosie had no contacts, no real means of exposure. Lil Boosie along with Baton Rouge rapper C-Loc at the end of 1990 and made his debut on 5 C-Loc album, “It ‘s a gamble,” in Three Six Mafia, South Park Mexican, and the rest of the field. This album was a saving grace for C-Loc, as he was slowly losing popularity. Releasing this album put him in the spotlight when he organized a new young tallented rapper at his side. Baton Rouge, do not get enough. Shortly afterwards, Boosie released his debut CD, “youngest of the field,” which sold over 10,000 units, and colleagues have presented and coming Baton Rouge rapper Max Minelli, which is exactly what boosie needed to jump start was his career. The album spread like wildfire, every hood in Baton Rouge had flyers for it, everyone was playing.
After the arrest, Boosie once again turned back on the road. Ultimately, his behavior led to him being held. At this point, Boosie felt as though it were a failure. However, fate lent Boosie a hand, and Boosie had an opportunity, an aspiring record label called Trill Entertainment aka Trill Ent Connect, which was backed by Pimp C of UGK. Trill signed Boosie and assisted him to bring his legal troubles to an end. Soon after, Boosie and Trill independently released the CD “For my thugs” under TrillEnt released. This release has sold over 15,000 copies. Later in the summer of 2003, Boosie co-starred with one of his label mates, Webbie, on “Ghetto Stories” album which also went on to sell over 15,000 copies.
Again, with Webbie, Lil Boosie out of the combined years 2004 release, “Gangsta Musik” is what really gave him popularity. This CD featured the ever popular songs “Swerve” (which later made an appearance in “Hustle & Flow” film), “Give Me That” and “Bad Bitch”. This was the first really popular album Boosie, actually penetrating the borders of Louisiana and beyond.
Boosie talent was now undeniable, and he caught the eye of some Universal Records representatives. End of January 2005 Boosie signed a deal with Universal, and the CD “Boosie Bad Azz”. This album, backed and promoted by Universal Records, was his strongest yet. In the spring of 2007, Boosie came with another hit, “Wipe Me Down”. West to east, from north to south … Each of these had a part. This was the biggest break Boosie, and no one could deny it. He has worked with Foxx, Webbie, Trill and other family members, Boosie went on “Trill Fam: Survival of the Fittest”, published May 22, 2007. With hits like “Wipe Me Down”, “Do It Stick It” and “Adios”, the album reached # 17 on the charts. To get more and more popularity Boosie an incredible pace, and shows no signs of stopping soon. It has just begun.
